Aysgarth School has a very active Charities Committee. These pupils meet regularly to discuss how to best support various charities as a school. They update the rest of the school as to the work of the chosen charities, raising the profile of the charity work done and encouraging all pupils to participate fully in the fund raising activities.

This year the Charity Committee is represented by the following boys:

NEW DAY, NEW LIFE - GHANA: The project, run by the New Life Baptist Church in Northallerton, sponsors orphaned and destitute children in Jamestown, Ghana. The children in Oak House are sponsoring a little boy.

ROMANIAN CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX APPEAL: A charity providing Christmas presents for less fortunate children in Romania.

YORKSHIRE CANCER RESEARCH: In 2006 Oak House supported Yorkshire Cancer Research, the largest regional medical research charity in the UK, which funds research into cancer.
