Spooky Tales
Boys took part in a Ghost Story and Victorian Gothic Book Week.
All last week the School played host to lots of spooky goings-on. Forms 1 and 2 completed story boards and improvised drama work on the famous story of Harry Martindale and the ghostly Roman legion and the kitchen treated us all to spooky little butterfly buns complete with blackberry bats for Low Tea!
5B and 5S conducted fascinating research for their 19th century ghost stories with a trip to the Victorian street in the Castle Museum, York, and further spine-tingling tales were enjoyed on the Ghost Creeper’s ghost walk after a very welcome plateful of fish and chips!
On Tuesday the character parade was great fun and on the Wednesday local actress and writer, Sarah Blake performed her specially commissioned short story (set at Aysgarth School) to Forms 3 and 4 before guiding them through an improvised drama work shop.
A poetry competition also took place and the best writing and drama was showcased on the Friday morning in the chapel.
