Ripon Choir Concert
Three choirs sing to a packed house at Ripon Cathedral
The three choirs from Aysgarth School joined forces to present a carol concert at Ripon Cathedral in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The youngest chorister is aged just 9 years and the oldest only 13. The concert was opened by Edward Pring (aged 13) who also gave a reading during the carol service.
The Aysgarth choirs were being joined by tenor soloist Mark Le Brocq and flautist Philippa Abrahams for a spectacular Christmas fundraiser to a sell-out audience.
Tom Oakshott, Head of Music at Aysgarth School said, “Our three boys’ choirs have worked hard at blending their voices together to produce a programme full of variety and interest, with something in it for everyone to enjoy.”
Sallyanne Brooksbank, Chair of the Yorkshire Macmillan Cancer Support Committee said, “We thank the Aysgarth Choirs for their continued support for Macmillan Cancer Support in the North East. Proceeds from this year’s concert are expected to exceed £25,000.”
