Aysgarth Pupils Sing on Album
Internationally acclaimed guitarist and composer Eduardo Niebla invited pupils from Aysgarth and Queen Mary's choirs to sing on his new album.
The recording took place at his Yorkshire studios near Melmerby. Pupils from Aysgarth and Queen Mary’s Schools, sang in the title piece, accompaniment by his brother Salvador on drums and Ken Marley on double bass.
This is not the first time that Eduardo has worked with pupils from Yorkshire schools; in May students from Driffield School performed alongside him during his tour of East Yorkshire and in 2007 he was commission by the Ripon International Festival to write a new collection of pieces for their 10th anniversary, which involved over 100 pupils from 5 North Yorkshire schools and lyrics by acclaimed Yorkshire poet Ian McMillan.
The new CD, to be released later this year, is Eduardo’s 23rd. It follows a distinguished recording and performing career over the last 4 decades.
