    Paul Barlow - Head of RS & Housemaster

    Mr Barlow came to Aysgarth from Ardingly College. He has a B. Ed (hons) degree from Bedford University.

    Paul is married to Emma, who teaches in the Pre-Prep. They have three children, Ewan, Teddy and Poppy Louise.

    Paul’s interests include camping/outdoor activities and travelling with his family.

    When asked whether he wanted to say anything else, his quote was “I love being a DAD!”

    Paul recently took on the post of Housemaster.

    Anne Armstrong - Senior Matron

    Anne has been ‘matroning’ for 28 years. She is loved by the children in her care and helps to create a warm, friendly atmosphere in the boarding house. Her interests include Photography, Walking, Reading and Making Costumes for plays. She also helps run the gardening club.

    Sue Marshall - School Nurse

    Peter Gaven - Assistant Housemaster, Information & Technology Manager and Head of PSHE

    Peter has a B.Sc (hons) degree and a PGDE from The University of Natal (Durban).

    Peter enjoys all types of music (particularly Christian and Gospel), woodwork, gardening and outdoor life. Peter is South African and has been teaching at Aysgarth since 1998. His sporting interests include rugby and water polo.

    Josh Lea - Gap Student

    Josh is from Palmerston North, New Zealand. He enjoys sports-especially rugby, cricket, rugby league and croquet.

    Josh came to Aysgarth in January 2011 and is intending to stay on another year and after that hoping to join the New Zealand Police force.

    Hannah Andrews - Gap Student

    Hannah Andrews is from Melbourne, Australia. She enjoys sports such as netball, swimming and tennis and loves to travel. Hannah will study a Bachelor of Communictaions in 2012 in Melbourne when she returns.

    Amanda Simpson - Gap Student

    Amanda is from a small town in the South Island of New Zealand and has come to Aysgarth as a a Gap Student for one year. She is interested in studying Art History at University when she returns to NZ and hopes to see a lot of England and Europe while she is here.

    George Barrett - Gap Student

    George was educated at Aysgarth and then at Uppingham where he was a music scholar. He will be a Gap Student for two terms and will then go on to university to study Medieval History and Archaeology.

    Anthony Wanakore - Gap Student

    Anthony has joined us from New Zealand. Last year he finished his final year at an all boys boarding school of which he attended for five years. He enjoys playing rugby and loves music. His ambitions are to attend Victoria University in NZ and study Law and Management. He is looking forward to meeting new people and learning different life skills during his time with us.
